NETCOM is a non-profit training organization and the Telecommunications / Low-voltage training arm of the IBEW Local 213. Our courses are open to any individual or company looking to improve the quality of their product through crew training. Our mandate is to offer the finest skilled trades training possible, supporting official accreditation and a strong Communications industry.



IBEW Local 213 represents approximately 5000 members in British Columbia. We invite everyone to register and create an account. Once registered, you can enroll in any course that becomes available.

FOA Certified FIber Optic Technician (CFOT) (5 Days) July 24-28,2017

NETCOM Vocational Training Association ran the Fiber Optic Association - Certified Fiber Optic Technician (5 Days) on July 24-28, 2017. Students were in attendance from Pacific West Cable and Shaw Communications. This type of training helps students learn the industry standard method of installing and troubleshooting fiber optic cable and connectors as well as fusion splice different types of fiber optic cable including loose buffer tube and ribbon. Instructors Ken Wigard and Art McGill are both ITA Accredited CATV/Broadband Network Journeyman Technicians who have the knowledge and experience to help students learn the right way of working on telecommunications infrastructure to ensure long life and ease of maintenance. NETCOM trains installers and apprentices that work on some of the most sophisticated networks in the world for various telecommunications companies. You can view our upcoming courses here.
